Taxonomy
Diparelasma was named by Ulrich and Cooper (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-l O Llvi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 4,5]. It is not extant. Its type is Diparelasma typicum.

It was assigned to Finkelnburgiidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002).
