Taxonomy
Cassianastraea stanleyia was named by Bandel (1994). Its type specimen is UMIP 22395 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 84-CH-4, Chaquipuquio, which is in a Norian carbonate limestone in the Chambara Formation of Peru.
