Taxonomy
Heterospira simulatrix was named by Haas (1953). Its type specimen is AMNH 27527:1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro de Pasco area, Shelby, loc. 71, which is in a Rhaetian marine limestone in Peru.
