Taxonomy
Ammonites guibalianus was named by d'Orbigny (1844). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R01555 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Oxynoticeras guibalianus by Hyatt (1874); it was recombined as Gleviceras guibalianum by Blau (1998), Blau et al. (2000), Rakús and Guex (2002) and Geczy and Meister (2007).
