Calliconites nevadensis
Taxonomy
Belemnites nevadensis was named by Meek (1877). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cottonwood Canon, West Humboldt Range, which is in an Illyrian/Fassanian carbonate limestone in Nevada.
It was recombined as Atractites nevadensis by Silberling and Nichols (1982); it was recombined as Calliconites nevadensis by Doyle (1994).
