Taxonomy
Microderoceras birchiades was named by Rosenberg (1909). It is the type species of Paramicroderoceras.

It was recombined as Paramicroderoceras birchiades by Blau (1998) and Geczy and Meister (2007); it was recombined as Microderoceras (Eoderoceras) birchiades by Meister et al. (2011).
