Taxonomy
Christitys martini was named by Popenoe and Saul (1987). Its type specimen is USNM 400975, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Area 23: Whalers Creek, Chignik Lagoon, which is in a Campanian coastal sandstone in the Chignik Formation of Alaska.
