Taxonomy
Neoplatyteichum dickinsi was named by Maxwell (1964). Its type specimen is UQ F27099 and is a mold. Its type locality is UQ L1897, Baywulla Station, which is in a Pennsylvanian marine siliciclastic in the Rands Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Neoplatyteichum.
