Taxonomy

Dolerorthis was named by Schuchert and Cooper (1931). Its type is Orthis interplicata.

It was assigned to Dolerorthidae by Wright (1964); to Dolerorthinae by Bassett and Cocks (1974), Mitchell (1977) and Jin and Chatterton (1997); to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Hesperorthidae by Williams et al. (2000), Rubel (2011) and Paškevičius and Hints (2016).

Synonyms

Altaeorthis was named by Severgina (1967) [Sepkoski's age data: O Sepkoski's reference number: 538].

It was synonymized subjectively with Dolerorthis by Williams et al. (2000).

It was assigned to Brachiopoda by Severgina (1967); and to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002).
Munhella was named by Neuman (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-u O Cara Sepkoski's reference number: 412,538]. Its type is Munhella cummingi.

It was synonymized subjectively with Dolerorthis by Williams et al. (2000).

It was assigned to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002).
