Taxonomy
Resserella was named by Bancroft (1928) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-l D Emsi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 25]. It is not extant. Its type is Orthis canalis.

It was assigned to Resserellinae by Bassett and Cocks (1974), Hints (1975) and Williams et al. (2000); and to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002).
