Hildoceras lusitanica was named by Meister (1913) [Hildoceras bifrons var. lusitanica]. It is not extant.

It was corrected as Hildoceras lusitanicum by Guex (1972), Howarth (1992), Bécaud (2006) and Benzaggagh et al. (2022).
