Taxonomy
Protogryllus parallelus was named by Zeuner (1937). Its type specimen is NHML I 10581, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Binton, Warwickshire (Brodie coll), which is in a Hettangian marine shale/limestone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Protogryllus (Protogryllus) parallelus by Pérez-de la Fuente et al. (2012).
