Taxonomy
Phyloblatta gigantea was named by Guthörl (1939). Its type specimen is Pollichia Museum Bad Durkheim, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Odernheim, which is in an Asselian lacustrine - large shale in the Meisenheim Formation of Germany.
