Taxonomy
Discoidella spinosa was named by Kozur (1985). Its type specimen is C 2342/Ko 1980/I-523 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nagyvisnyó Railway Cut 1, sample BK 17, which is in a Moscovian carbonate limestone in Hungary.
