Palaeometa opertanea

Taxonomy
Theridium opertaneum was named by Scudder (1890). Its type specimen is 13521, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (MCZ Collection), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Palaeometa.

It was recombined as Palaeometa opertanea by Petrunkevitch (1922) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
