Taxonomy
Leda promissa was named by Koch and Berendt (1854). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland. It is the type species of Steneattus, Leda.
It was recombined as Steneattus promissa by Dunlop et al. (2013).
