Taxonomy
Titanoeca hesterna was named by Scudder (1890). Its type specimen is 5656, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil.

It was recombined as Palaeodrassus hesternus by Petrunkevitch (1922) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
