Taxonomy
Aranea columbiae was named by Scudder (1878). It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Quesnel, which is in a Priabonian lacustrine shale in the Australian Creek Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Araneaovoius columbiae by Dunlop and Braddy (2011) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
