Beaniceras centaurus
Taxonomy
Ammonites centaurus was named by d'Orbigny (1844). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.A25867 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Les Cottards, nr Saint George de Poisieux, which is in a Pliensbachian marine horizon in France.
It was recombined as Aegoceras (Beaniceras) centaurus by Meister (1986); it was recombined as Beaniceras centaurus by Donovan and Surlyk (2003).
