Taxonomy
Cardinocrania was named by Waagen (1885) [Sepkoski's age data: P Djhu Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. Its type is Cardinocrania indica.

It was synonymized subjectively with Leptodus by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960).

It was assigned to Lyttoniinae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
