Palaeomachus anglicus
Taxonomy
Eoscorpius anglicus was named by Woodward (1876). Its type specimen is BMNH I.944 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Skegby New Colliery, near Mansfield, which is in a Westphalian deltaic shale in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Palaeomachus.
It was recombined as Palaeomachus anglicus by Pocock (1911), Petrunkevitch (1953), Kjellesvig-Waering (1986) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
