Cyclophthalmus euglyptus
Taxonomy
Eoscorpius euglyptus was named by Peach (1883). Its type specimen is GSE 2142 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Glencartholm, which is in a Visean marginal marine tuff/shale in the Glencartholm Volcanic Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Cyclophthalmus euglyptus by Pocock (1911); it was recombined as Centromachus euglyptus by Petrunkevitch (1949), Petrunkevitch (1953), Kjellesvig-Waering (1986) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
