Taxonomy
Tropidocyclus rotula was named by de Koninck (1883). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Visé, which is in a Visean carbonate limestone in the Calcaire de Seilles Formation of Belgium.

It was recombined as Tropidodiscus rotula by Wagner (2023).
