Ammonites latus was named by Parkinson (1811) [Check Ammonites jamesoni var.latus Quenstedt 1845].
It was synonymized subjectively with Schaireria neoburgensis by Checa (1985); it was recombined as Uptonia lata by Alkaya and Meister (1995) and Donovan and Surlyk (2003).
