Taxonomy
Rhynchonella bothenhamptonensis was named by Walker (1892) [Rhynchonella jurensis var. bothenhamptonensis]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shipton Long Lane, near Bothenhampton (Brown stone bed), which is in a Thouarsense carbonate limestone in the United Kingdom.
It was synonymized subjectively with Pseudogibbirhynchia jurensis by Ager (1962); it was recombined as Pseudogibbirhynchia bothenhamptonensis by Alméras and Fauré (2000) and Andrade (2006).
