Turborotalita was named by Blow and Banner (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-u-u R]. It is extant. Its type is Truncatulina humilis.

It was assigned to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Globigerinidae by Lam and Leckie (2020).
