It was reranked as Girlasia by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960), Williams et al. (2000) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Strophalosia by de Gregorio (1930); to Echinosteginae by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960) and Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
