Pholcochyrocer baculum was named by Wunderlich (2012). Its type specimen is F2339/BU/CJW and is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber (Wunderlich coll), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
