Taxonomy
Peltoperleidus obristi was named by Herzog (2001). Its type specimen is PIMUZ A/I2858, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is summit of Strel, Kanton Graubünden, which is in a Fassanian marine horizon in the Prosanto Formation of Switzerland.
