Hollardina was named by Racheboeuf et al. (1982) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi Sepkoski's reference number: 538]. Its type is Hollardina plana.

It was assigned to Leptaeninae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
