Taxonomy
Lamellosia was named by Cooper and Grant (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 7]. Its type is Lamellosia lamellosa. It is the type genus of Lamellosiinae.

It was assigned to Lamellosiinae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
