Taxonomy
Leptalosia was named by Dunbar and Condra (1932) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-u C Step-u Sepkoski's reference number: 25,41]. It is not extant. Its type is Strophalosia scintilla.

It was assigned to Productellinae by Sutton (1938); to Heteralosiinae by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960); to Strophalosiinae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
