Taxonomy

Mesopholidostrophia was named by Williams (1950). Its type is Pholidostrophia (Mesopholidostrophia) nitens.

It was assigned to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eopholidostrophiidae by Williams et al. (2000), Musteikis and Cocks (2004) and Rubel (2011).

Synonyms

Mesolissostrophia was named as a genus. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Lissostrophia (Mesolissostrophia) by Williams (1950); it was synonymized subjectively with Mesopholidostrophia by Williams et al. (2000).

It was assigned to Lissostrophia by Williams (1950); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
