Cycadopites was named by Wodehouse (1933) [R.P. Wodehouse, 1933]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was assigned to Cycadales by Jarzen (1982); and to Cycadophyta by Herbst (1965) and Vallati et al. (2020).
