Taxonomy
Rhoipites minusculus was named by Archangelsky (1973). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: p.m. 1009; coord. 38.2/101.5. Stored at Museo de La Plata, Paleobotanical division., a microspore (Pollen grain). Its type locality is Cerro Bororó, which is in a Danian terrestrial horizon in Argentina.

Archangelsky 1973Grano subprolado; colpos llegando cerca de los polos, con visible engrosamiento más desarrollado en el sector ecuatorial; poros de contornos poco nítidos, subcirculares a lalongados, de hasta 4.5 µ de ancho. Exina compuesta por dos capas fusionadas, ca. 1 µ de espesor. Superficie con puntuaciones regulares (OL) o bien scabrada (LO).
