Nadiastrophia was named by Talent (1963) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-l D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 24,25]. Its type is Nadiastrophia superba.

It was assigned to Stropheodontidae by Talent (1963); to Protodouvillininae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
