Taxonomy
Prosyntexis gouleti was named by Sharkey (1990). Its type specimen is AMNH 43270, an exoskeleton (female body), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (AMNH collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
