Eolyttonia was named by Frederiks (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: C Step P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 7]. It is not extant. Its type is Oldhamina (Lyttonia) mira.
It was assigned to Lyttoniinae by Tazawa and Shen (1997) and Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
