Taxonomy
Ulmeriella aquisextana was named by Nel (1986). Its type specimen is MNHN IPM-R.07443, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Aix-en-Provence (MNHN Paris Coll), which is in a Chattian lacustrine - large limestone in the Niveau du gypse d'Aix Formation of France.
