Taxonomy
Retiophyllia nevadae was named by Roniewicz and Stanley (2013). Its type specimen is UCMP 153092 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP B5868, Tonopah Quadrangle, Mineral County, which is in a Lacian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Luning Formation of Nevada.
