Taxonomy
Curtoseris dunlapcanyonae was named by Roniewicz and Stanley (2013). Its type specimen is UMIP 17010 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is MI 8603, Dunlap Canyon, Pilot Mountains, which is in a Lacian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Luning Formation of Nevada.
