Thorhallenia dentata was named by Passalia (2007). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type locality is Bajo ComisiĆ³n 1 - NFE, which is in an Albian/Cenomanian delta plain shale in the Kachaike Formation of Argentina.
