Taxonomy
Cybister rotundatus was named by Říha (1974). Its type specimen is PIN 437/7, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Belyy Yar, Tym River (PIN collection 437), which is in a Miocene terrestrial shale in the Russian Federation.
