Taxonomy
Goniatites blairi was named by Miller and Gurley (1896). It is the type species of Pericyclus (Goniocyclus).

It was recombined as Pericyclus blairi by Smith (1903); it was recombined as Pericyclus (Goniocyclus) blairi by Gordon (1986).
