Taxonomy
Hellenites subpraematurus was named by Zharnikova (1985). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 8/12010 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chernyshev Bay, Russkiy Island (TsNIGR coll), which is in a Spathian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
