Taxonomy
Trachyceras silberlingi was named by Balini et al. (2012). Its type specimen is MPUM 11061 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample F26, South Canyon, which is in a Julian offshore limestone in the Augusta Mountain Formation of Nevada.
