Taxonomy
Gymnotoceras inflatum was named by Konstantinov (1991). Its type specimen is TsSGM 121/811 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Olkhovyi Creek, rotelliforme zone, Kengdey River basin, which is in an Illyrian marine siliciclastic in the Russian Federation.
