Taxonomy
Scapharina was named by Cooper and Grant (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 7,1246]. Its type is Scapharina rugosa.

It was assigned to Incisiini by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
