Liassochorista anglicana was named by Tillyard (1933). Its type specimen is BMNH I 10602, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Brown's Wood, Warwickshire, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Mesochorista anglicana by Ansorge (1995).
