Chrysemys isoni

Taxonomy
Chrysemys isoni was named by Weems and George (2001). Its type specimen is CMM-V- 4664, an osteoderm (One largely complete nuchal element ), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Banks of Pamunkey River at county boundary, which is in an Oligocene marine horizon in the Old Church Formation of Virginia.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Vlachos (2018).

Weems 2023Anterior region of nuchal greatly thickened, with an anterior border strongly constricted and deeply crenulated; lateral borders with adjacent first peripherals distinctly concave; cervical scute large and elongate on both dorsal and ventral sides, ventral side much longer than dorsal side. Entoplastron diamond shaped with rounded anterior and posterior edges; epiplastra lack the prominent knob found in C. picta near the middle of their dorsal (internal) surfaces.
